SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan's China American Petrochemical (CAPCO) will restart its 400,000 tonne/year No 5 PTA plant at Lin Yuan in Kaohsiung by 6 April, a company source said.

The unit was shut on 7 March for a planned maintenance turnaround.

CAPCO initially scheduled a two-week turnaround for the unit but delayed its restart because of negative margins, the source said.

Separately, CAPCO is expected to shut its 700,000 tonne/year No 6 plant at Taichung next week for around two to three weeks for maintenance, the source added.
