China’s Hualong Glycerine shuts crude glycerine refining plant

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Hualong Glycerine has shut its 20,000 tonne/year crude glycerine refining plant at Zhongshan city in south China for maintenance, a company source said on Tuesday.  

The company shut the plant on 9 April and will restart it on 13 April, the source said.

The shutdown will have a limited impact on the market because demand is weak, the source added.

The prices of 95% glycerine were assessed at yuan (CNY) 4,700-4,800/tonne ($745-761/tonne) on 10 April and prices of 99.5% glycerine were at CNY5,000/tonne on the same day, according to Chemease, an ICIS service in China.
