LONDON (ICIS)--Wacker Chemie has expanded its technical centre in ?xml:namespace>Singapore to include laboratories and test equipment for polymer dispersions, the Germany-based chemical company said on Tuesday.
The expansion at the centre, located in the Singapore Science Park, has focused on vinyl acetate ethylene (VAE) copolymer dispersions used as binders for interior architectural paints in the coatings industry.
“The expansion was made necessary by the region’s strong economic growth, particularly with regard to sophisticated paint and coating applications,” said the company.
“This measure will help Wacker to further bolster its position as the market and technology leader [for VAE dispersions],” it added.
“The company therefore continues investing in its Singapore technical centre to augment and refine its expertise in research and development (R&D), as well as its local applications technology and customer service,” said Wacker.
