HOUSTON (ICIS)--Brazilian ethanol spot prices were mostly steady on thin trade during the holiday-shortened Easter week, according to data on the website of Brazilian research group CEPEA on Wednesday.

CEPEA assessed anhydrous ethanol at Brazilian reais (R) 1.2914/litre ($2.67/gal, €0.54/litre) in the week ended 6 April, virtually flat with R1.2924/litre a week earlier.

Hydrous ethanol was assessed at R1.2131/litre, down 0.2% from R1.2158/litre in the week that ended on 30 March.

Brazil uses hydrous ethanol as a standalone fuel in flexible-fuel vehicles (FFVs), while anhydrous ethanol is blended in gasoline at a mandated 20%.

CEPEA prices are ex-tank and do not include taxes.
