HOUSTON (ICIS)--Cabot has broken ground on a 130,000 tonne/year carbon black joint-venture plant in Xingtai, China, the US-based producer said on Tuesday.

Cabot expects to start up the plant by mid-2013, it said.

The $140m (€106m) project, which was first announced in March 2011, is a 60:40 joint venture between Cabot and Chinese producer Risun Chemicals.
