Germany’s Evonik completes sale of colourants business

LONDON (ICIS)--Evonik has completed the sale of its global colourants business to US private equity firm Arsenal Capital Partners, the German specialty chemical company said on Wednesday.

The transaction was closed on 30 April 2012, Evonik said.

Evonik generated sales of about €130m ($171m) from its colourants business in 2011, it added.

The colourants business has more than 300 employees with sites in the US, Canada, Brazil, Australia, China, Malaysia and the Netherlands.

Financial details were not disclosed.

Evonik entered into the sales agreement with Arsenal Capital Partners in March 2012.
