US propylene inventories drop 4% in last week of April

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US propylene inventories fell by 4% in the last week of April despite another gain in operating rates at US refineries, data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) showed on Wednesday.

Propylene inventories were at 3.539m bbl in the week that ended on 27 April, down from 3.688m bbl a week earlier.

Inventories were at their lowest point since 3.536m bbl in the week ended on 14 October 2011, according to the EIA database.

US refinery operating rates climbed for the third week in a row, averaging 86.0% of capacity last week, up from 84.7% in the previous week, EIA data showed.
