SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China's Baling Petrochemical and Sinopec Maoming Company, plan to build a 200,000 tonne/year caprolactam (capro) plant at Maoming in southern Guangdong province, a local government source said on Tuesday.
The two companies, both subsidiaries of state-owned Sinopec, signed a Letter of Intent on the construction with local Maoming government on 26 April, the source added.
“The plant will be built jointly by Baling Petrochemical, Sinopec Maoming Company and Maoming government, with total investment of yuan (CNY) 3.3bn ($524m),” said the source.
Construction is expected to start sometime this year but an actual date was not immediately known.
Baling Petrochemical is located in Yueyang of Hunan province, central ?xml:namespace>
