Shell restarts Moerdijk plant in the Netherlands on time - buyer

LONDON (ICIS)--Shell Chemical restarted its 305,000 tonne/year ethylene oxide (EO) and glycol site at Moerdijk in the Netherlands on schedule at the end of April, an EO buyer said on Wednesday.

A source at Shell confirmed on 27 April that the planned maintenance turnaround, which began on 6 April, was proceeding according to plan, but did not give any further details.

No update on the status of the plant could be obtained from the producer on Wednesday.

Other European EO/glycol producers include Shell, INEOS Oxide, BASF, Clariant, Sasol, IQA, PKN Orlen and AkzoNobel.
