HOUSTON (ICIS)--US April acrylonitrile (ACN) formula-based contract prices dipped an average of 6%  month on month for domestic delivered material, primarily on a decline in the May contract prices for propylene, sources confirmed on Wednesday.

The April DEL (delivered) ACN contract price range for domestic customers is 102.78-107.10 cents/lb, down from the March range of 110.11-114.00 cents/lb.

The contract price range for exported ACN material shipped FOB (free on board) is 97.64-103.19 cents/lb, up from 96.98-99.79 cents/lb. The FOB contract prices also take into account the previous month’s spot price average.

The change in price values for ammonia is also considered in the formula. Ammonia prices during April increased from March.

The spot price averages for ACN in April were up from March.

North American producers of ACN include Ascend Performance Materials, Cornerstone Chemical, INEOS Nitriles and Unigel.
