Japan’s Maruzen Petrochemical shuts Chiba cracker for turnaround

?xml:namespace>SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Maruzen Petrochemical shut its 520,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker in Chiba as scheduled on 9 May for a turnaround, said a company source on Thursday.
The cracker is expected to resume operations on 21 June, he added.
Maruzen Petrochemical was running its cracker at around 85% of capacity in April, according to another company who did not specify what the operating rate was in May before the shutdown. By: Peh Soo Hwee+65 6780 4359
