HOUSTON (ICIS)--US-based Dow Chemical has restarted its phenol-acetone plant in Texas after putting it into turnaround for maintenance, sources said on Friday.

The plant was put into turnaround in mid-April for routine maintenance.

The Freeport plant in Texas has a phenol capacity of 295,000 tonnes/year and an acetone capacity of 180,000 tonnes/year, according to ICIS plants and projects.

Attempts to reach a company spokesperson were unsuccessful.

Dow also has an 85,000 tonne/year epoxy resins unit at the site, which was shut down in the same time frame and is expected to be restarted in May.
