HOUSTON (ICIS)--The US Seaway Pipeline began shipments of crude oil to Houston on schedule with first flows midday on Saturday, midstream services company Enterprise Products said on Monday.

The reversal of the pipeline was completed on 17 May, re-routing crude oil from the storage hub in Cushing, Oklahoma, to the US Gulf.

The pipeline is expected to have an initial capacity of 150,000 bbl/day of crude. Capacity will increase to 400,000 bbl/day in the first quarter of 2013, the company said.

The Seaway Pipeline is a joint venture between Enterprise Products and Enbridge.
