HOUSTON (ICIS)--The world should be able to absorb the new crackers being built in the US because the industry is tight and the global economy is growing, the chief financial officer of US-based Dow Chemical said on Wednesday.
However, not all of the companies in the planning stage will ultimately build new crackers, said Bill Weideman, Dow chief financial officer. He made his comments during the Goldman Sachs Basic Materials Conference.
Plus, the industry is already tight and the world economy is growing, so it could handle a couple of crackers/year, he said.
