US ethanol stocks rebound, while production rates keep increasing

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US ethanol inventories rebounded last week, while production continued to increase, according to data released by the Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Wednesday.

The increase in stockpiles comes alongside weak demand in the ethanol market.

Ethanol inventories for the week that ended on 18 May were at 21.4m bbl, up by 800,000 bbl or 3.9% from 20.6m bbl the previous week.

Ethanol production was at 919,000 bbl/day, up by 15,000 bbl/day or 1.7% from 904,000 bbl/day a week earlier.
