China LLDPE futures rise 0.93% on economic stimulus hopes

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) futures increased by 0.93% on Friday on expectations of a further loosening of domestic monetary policy to boost the economy, industry sources said.

September LLDPE futures, the most actively traded contract on the Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE), closed at yuan (CNY) 9,785/tonne ($1,546/tonne) on 25 May, up by CNY90/tonne from the settlement price of CNY9,695/tonne on 24 May, DCE data showed.

Around 930,000 tonnes of LLDPE, or 374,068 contracts, for delivery in September were traded on Friday, according to the data.
