LONDON (ICIS)--Perstorp has extended a distribution agreement with Brazil-based Oxiquim Quimica, as part of a strategy to expand its South American activities, the Sweden-based group said on Tuesday.

As of the first quarter of 2012, Oxiquim Quimica has been responsible for distributing the wider range of Perstorp’s products for the coating resins market, with particular focus on it polyalcohols.

“With their [Oxiquim Quimica’s] history in the industry and effective operation in Brazil, we are convinced that they will support our growth targets in Brazil and South America,” said Per Westberg, sales director at Perstorp.

“For South America and especially Brazil, the supply of resin raw materials is very important for our group,” said Claudio Gaino, Perstorp’s director for Latin America.
