SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Methanex has nominated its June Asian posted contract price (APCP) for methanol at $465/tonne (€372/tonne), down $15/tonne from its proposed price for May contract, the company said on Thursday.

Methanex uses the APCP on a CFR (cost & freight) Asia basis as a benchmark for its contracts in South Korea and Japan, with discounts.

Korea traders had said demand for methanol was weak.

The company has published its independent Q2 European posted contract price (EPCP) at €340/tonne ($425/tonne) FOB (free on board) Rotterdam, up by €20/tonne from Q1 in March.

In the US, Methanex posted its June contract price at 138cents/gal ($460/tonne), the same as its May posting.
