US ethanol stocks up second straight week, while production drops

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US ethanol inventories moved higher in the final full week of May, while production data came down, according to Energy Information Administration (EIA) data released on Thursday.

The ethanol data was delayed by one day because of the Memorial Day holiday on 28 May.

Ethanol inventories for the week that ended on 25 May, were at 21.5m bbl, up by 100,000 bbl or 0.5% from 21.4m bbl the previous week. The increase also represented the second consecutive week that inventories have firmed.

Ethanol production was at 902,000 bbl/day, down by 17,000 bbl/day or 1.8% from 919,000 bbl/day a week earlier.
