US MAY PTA LOWER ON PX DECREASE
The May contract price for purified terephthalic acid (PTA) in the US was assessed at 64.52 cents/lb ($1,422/tonne, €1,138 /tonne) DEL (delivered) USG (US Gulf), down 1.34 cents/lb from 65.86 cents/lb in April. The PTA price is formula-linked to the monthly contract price for upstream paraxylene (PX), with the PTA decrease for May representing 67% of the 2.00 cent/lb decrease in the May PX price.

US MAY OXO-ALCOHOLS MAINLY ROLL OVER
May contracts for n-butanol in the US rolled over at 106-111 cents/lb ($2,337-2,447/tonne, €1,823-1,908/tonne) DEL (delivered). Isobutanol rolled over at 127-129 cents/lb DEL. 2-ethylhexanol (2-EH) fell by 4 cents/lb from April to 135-137 cents/lb DEL.

US MAY PA ROLLS OVER
US phthalic anhydride (PA) May contracts have been assessed at a rollover from April, putting the May contract for molten-grade PA at 87-94 cents/lb, while flake-grade was assessed at 88-95cents/lb.

EU MAY CONTRACTS FOR ETHANOLAMINES MIXED
European May ethanolamines contracts settled between roll-overs and minus €20/tonne (minus $25/tonne). Mono­ethanol­amine, diethanolamine and triethanolamine were assessed at €1,420-1,500/tonne, €1,050-1,130/tonne and €1,450-1,510/tonne FD (free delivered) NWE (Northwest Europe) respectively.

INITIAL US MAY BARGE ACETONE DOWN 23%
US May barge acetone contract participants reached an initial settlement of 52.5 cents/lb ($1,157/tonne, €926/tonne) DEL barges, a drop of 23% from April.
