Jacobs wins work for Solutia PVB resin plant in Malaysia

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Jacobs has won a contract for work on Solutia’s planned polyvinyl butyral (PVB) resin project in Kuantan, Malaysia, the US-based petrochemicals engineering firm said on Tuesday.

Jacobs said it will provide engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services for the plant, which is expected to be completed in 2013.

Financial or capacity details were not disclosed.

Solutia had announced the project in July last year.

Solutia is being acquired by Eastman Chemical under a $4.7bn (€3.8bn) deal announced in January.
