SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Pertamina’s 430,000 tonne/year Group I base oil plant at Cilacap, Indonesia, has been undergoing maintenance since late May, a company source said on Wednesday.

The plant is expected to be down for 15 days, but the company will continue supplying to customers from its base oil inventory, the source said.

The shutdown will pose minimal impact on China’s Group I base oil market, as Chinese importers are not keen to buy Indonesian spot cargoes, China-based traders said.

Downstream demand in China has been lacklustre since early May.

Meanwhile, supplies of Group I products are sufficient in the local market, said the Petermina source.

Pertamina largely produces Group I SN130, SN250, SN500 and BS150 base oils.
