SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) futures fell by 1.98% on Wednesday, as market confidence is being undermined by the bearish outlook on the global economy, industry sources said.

September LLDPE futures, the most actively traded contract on the Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE), closed at yuan (CNY) 9,180/tonne ($1,441/tonne), down by CNY185/tonne from Tuesday’s settlement price of CNY9,365/tonne.

Around 740,000 tonnes of LLDPE, or 396,324 contracts, were traded for delivery in September, according to DCE data.
