Brazil Petrobras wants to become world’s largest ethanol producer

CAMPINAS, Brazil (ICIS)--Brazil state oil producer Petrobras said on Wednesday it wants to become the world’s largest ethanol producer.

The company’s CEO, Maria das Gracas Foster, said in an interview that the company plans to make a series of acquisitions and build new ethanol plants to reach its goals.

The executive said if the company had the ethanol it needed, it would import less and improve results for investors, she said.
