SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Saudi Arabia’s Al-Waha Petrochemical has shut its propane dehydrogenation (PDH) and polypropylene (PP) facilities in Al Jubail for a month-long turnaround, market players said on Friday.

Company officials could not be reached immediately for comments.

Both units, each with a nameplate capacity of 450,000 tonnes/year, were taken off line late last week for scheduled maintenance, the sources said.

“The shutdown will take place for 35 days,” one of the sources said.

Prior to the turnaround, the PP plant produced primarily copolymer grades.

Al-Waha Petrochemical is a 75:25 joint venture between Sahara Petrochemical and LyondellBasell.
