SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China's Shandong Huamao Industry has postponed the start-up of its 100,000 tonne/year styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) plant in Shandong province to July from late May, a company source said on Thursday.

The plant was originally scheduled to start up in the first quarter of 2012, the source said, without specifying the exact reasons for the delay.

The delay may be due to technical problems at the plant, a market player said.

The company's other 100,000 tonne/year butadiene rubber (BR) plant at the same site is operating at 50% of capacity, the company source added.

Shandong Huamao Industry is a private enterprise with registered capital of yuan (CNY) 88m ($14m).
