China’s Qinghai Citic plans end-2012 potassium chloride start-up

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Qinghai Citic Guoan Technology plans to start up its 300,000 tonne/year potassium chloride plant at Qinghai in northwest China at the end of this year, a source close to the company said on Tuesday.

Construction of the plant has started, but details on the construction timeline were not immediately available.

“[The plant] is expected to start commercial operations by the end of December this year,” the source said.

The company invested yuan (CNY) 360m ($57m) in the plant, according to the source.

Qinghai Citic Guoan Technology is a subsidiary of Citic Group.
