The maintenance will last for about 45 days, the source added.
Its derivative plants at the same site, including a 200,000 tonne/year low density polyethylene (LDPE) unit, a 300,000 tonne/year LLDPE/HDPE (high density polyethylene) swing plant, and a 300,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) unit, will also be shut down during the period, the source said.
The source did say why the shutdown had been delayed.
PP and polyethylene (PE) supply may ease after the maintenance, local distributors said.
