HOUSTON (ICIS)--US-based TPC Group is in the process of restarting its butadiene (BD) plant in Houston, the company said on Wednesday, adding that the unit is expected to be in operation by the end of the day.

The facility went down on Tuesday after a lightning strike caused the boilers at the site to shut down, resulting in a loss of steam feed to the plant, TPC said.

The company has 545,000 tonnes/year of BD capacity in Houston.
