HOUSTON (ICIS)--BASF has completed a turnaround at its Port Arthur cracker in Texas and is now working to restart the unit, the company said on Wednesday.

The 934,000 tonne/year cracker was taken down in mid-April for what was originally scheduled to be a 6-8 week shutdown.

BASF is working on the restart process of the cracker, a spokesperson said, adding that the unit is expected to resume full operations by the end of June.

The cracker is a joint venture between BASF and Total.
