SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Tokuyama Corp is scheduled to restart its 330,000 tonne/year vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) facility at Tokuyama in Yamaguchi prefecture on 26 July, a company source said on Tuesday.

The plant has been down since early May because of technical problems.

The producer ceased VCM exports following the shutdown but plans to resume offers tentatively in August or September, according to the source.

VCM prices were last assessed by ICIS at $730-750/tonne (€584-600/tonne) CFR (cost and freight) NE (northeast) Asia on 22 June.
