SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China Soft Packaging Group plans to build two 700,000 tonne/year propane-to-propylene units in Fuzhou, Fujian province, a company source said on Monday.

“We have assigned [a] contract [to] UOP, a leading US technology firm, but we haven’t started construction yet,” the company source added.

The start date for the construction of the plants has not yet been set.

“We plan to finish the first 700,000 tonne/year unit in the second half of 2014, and the second one half year later,” the source added.

The downstream unit to be built at the site includes two 350,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) units and a 700,000 tonne/year PP unit.
