China's Henan Shunda Chem acetic acid plant shut for maintenance

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Henan Shunda Chemical’s 400,000 tonne/year acetic acid plant in Henan province is currently shut for maintenance, a company official said on Tuesday.

The plant was taken off line on 1 July and is expected to be down for one week, the source said.

“We will sell [from our] inventory during the shutdown period,” the source said.

Other key acetic acid producers in China include Celanese, BP, Jiangsu Sopo, Yankuang Cathay Coal Chemicals, Hebei Yingdu Gasification and Hualu-Hengsheng.
