Japan’s Idemitsu Kosan to shut cracker for September turnaround

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Idemitsu Kosan is on track to shut its 623,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker in Tokuyama on 10 September for a turnaround, a company source said on Thursday.

The cracker is expected to resume operations in late October, he said, adding that the exact restart date has yet to be finalised.

Idemitsu Kosan also runs a 374,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker in Chiba, which underwent scheduled maintenance last year.
