China’s Sichuan Meifeng Chemical to start up fertilizer unit in Sep

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Sichuan Meifeng Chemical Industry will start up its 100,000 tonne/year synthesis ammonia unit and 180,000 tonne/year urea unit at Xinjiang in northwest China on 29 September, a company source said on Friday.

The construction of two units started on 23 March 2011, according to the source.

The company initially planned to invest yuan (CNY) 500m ($79m) in the two units.

“At present, the company has completed 90% of the construction and the units are expected to start production on 29 September,” the source added.
