China’s Shida Shenghua shuts propylene oxide unit for a month

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shida Shenghua Petrochemical shut its 50,000tonne/year propylene oxide (PO) unit at Dongying in Shandong province on July 5, a company source said on Friday.

The company plans to keep the unit off line for a month and work on improving its energy efficiency that may lead to enhanced capacity, sources said.

However, the actual extent of capacity expansion is not known at this time, a source said.

No other details were immediately available.
