China’s Hubei Sanning Chemical to start up capro unit in mid-2013

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Hubei Sannning Chemical plans to start up a 200,000 tonne/year caprolactam (capro) plant at Zhijiang in Hubei province, central China, in June 2013, a company source said on Monday.

The company held the groundbreaking ceremony for the plant on 6 July, the source added.

The company will invest a total of yuan (CNY) 4bn ($628m) and the plant will be built in two phases of 100,000 tonnes/year each, said the source.

Construction will be completed in the first half of 2013 and commercial operation is expected to start in June 2013, added the source.
