China’s Yantai Wanhua restarts Ningbo MDI plant, capacity raised

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--?xml:namespace>China’s Yantai Wanhua Polyurethane has restarted its methylene di-p-phenylene isocyanate (MDI) plant at Ningbo in Zhejiang province, after completing maintenance and technical upgrading, the company said on Thursday.
The plant was shut on 1 June for 40 days during which the company undertook debottlenecking of the plant, a company statement to the Shanghai Stock Exchange said.
The total capacity of the plant was expanded to 900,000 tonne/year from 600,000 tonne/year, a company source told ICIS.
Yantai Wanhua plans to further raise its Ningbo MDI capacity to 1.2m tonne/year next year through further debottlenecking, the source added.
