SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Yeochun NCC (YNCC) raised the operating rates across its three naphtha crackers in Yeosu to 100% this week from around 90% in the past due to improved margins, a company source said on Friday.

“We are running our crackers at around 100% now because of better margins than before,” the source said.

YNCC operates a 857,000 tonne/year No 1 cracker, a 578,000 tonne/year No 2 cracker and a 465,000 tonne/year No 3 cracker at the site.

The company cut the operating rate of its three crackers to 90% in late May as a result of a slump in olefins spot prices, according to an earlier story from ICIS.
