SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Zhongyuan Dahua Group has shut down its 30’000 tonne/year melamine unit at Puyang in Henan province on 24 July because of some technical issue, a company source said on Wednesday.

The unit was running at 80% capacity before the shut down, the source said.

A restart date was not immediately known, the source added.

Meanwhile, the company is carrying out trial runs at two new 15,000 tonne/year melamine lines at the same site.

The company expects to achieve on-spec production in the next five days, the source said.
