Swiss Clariant acquires remaining shares of Ukraine catalyst JV

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Clariant has signed an agreement to acquire the remaining 40% shares of a Ukrainian catalyst joint venture, the Swiss specialty chemicals group said on Thursday.

Sud-Chemie Alvigo Catalysts (SCAC) is a joint venture between the holding company Alvigo, based in Tallin, Estonia, and German specialty chemicals firm Sud-Chemie, Clariant said.

SCAC is a producer of syngas catalysts based in the Ukraine.

The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The signing of the transaction took place at the end of June, and closing is subject to merger control approval, Clariant added.

No other details were immediately available.
