SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Canada's Methanex has nominated its August Asian Posted Contract Price (APCP) for methanol at $425/tonne (€349/tonne), down by $15/tonne from its proposed contract price for July, the company said on Tuesday.

The company uses the APCP on a CFR (cost & freight) Asia basis as benchmark for its contracts in South Korea and Japan, with discounts.

South Korean traders welcomed the lower August APCP, citing current lacklustre demand for methanol.

Methanex has published its independent third-quarter European Posted Contract Price (EPCP) at €340/tonne FOB (free on board) Rotterdam, a rollover from the second quarter.
