China’s Fude Holdings starts to build EVA plant at Songyuan

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shenzhen Fude Holdings has started to build its 200,000 tonne/year ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) project at Songyuan city in Jilin province on 29 July, a company source said on Thursday.

The project, which will cost yuan (CNY) 5.97bn ($937m), is located at a petrochemical industrial park in Songyuan, the source added.

The source did not specify when the construction will be completed.

The project is expected to process 865m cbm/year of natural gas to produce 200,000 tonnes/year of EVA and 156,200 tonnes/year of propylene, according to the source.

EVA is widely used in the footwear, toys and hot melt adhesives industries.
