SINGAPORE (ICIS)--INEOS Paraform has started up its new dimethoxymethane (methylal) plant at ?xml:namespace>
“The investment in the new methylal manufacturing process marks an important step as it moves downstream into the acetals market,” the company said in a statement.
Plant capacity and other details about the project were not given in the statement.
Methylal is an additive used in polyacetal and ion exchange resins and used in applications such as cosmetics, cleaning agents and aerosols, it said.
INEOS Paraform is subsidiary of Switzerland-headquartered chemicals maker INEOS.
