LONDON (ICIS)--European August epichlorohydrin (ECH) contract prices increased by €45-50/tonne ($56-62/tonne) because of higher feedstock propylene costs, sources said on Tuesday.

The August ECH monthly contract price range is assessed at €1,575-1,600/tonne FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe).

Some contracts rolled over because a number of players went on holiday before the August propylene settlement.

ECH sellers are adamant that they will increase prices in September in line with feedstock movements, but buyers were doubtful that this will be possible given weak demand from the downstream epoxy resins sector.
