TOKYO (ICIS)--Japanese chemical producer Asahi Glass Co plans to establish a sales base for functional chemicals in Guangzhou, China, to meet demand in the emerging market, the company said on Thursday.
The Guangzhou branch of AGC Chemicals Trading (Shanghai) is scheduled to start operations on 20 August 2012, AGC said.
The sales base will market functional chemicals including fluorinated resin, fluorinated elastomer and fluoropolymer resin for coatings, the producer added.
AGC said it expects demand for these products to increase in south China, including Guangdong province, where automobile and electronics industries are rapidly growing.
