SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan's Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPCC) has restarted its 700,000 tonne/year No 1 cracker in Mailiao, with the unit's operating rates pegged at 70%, company spokesperson Lin Keh-Yen said on Friday.

“The cracker was restarted on Wednesday [8 August],” said Lin.

There was a slight delay in the resumption of operations because of minor mechanical issues at the unit.

“It will be ramped up quite quickly,” said Lin, referring to the run rates of the cracker.
