SINGAPORE(ICIS)--China’s Sinopec has lifted its offers for sulphur by yuan (CNY) 20-30/tonne ($3-5/tonne) day on day to CNY1,540-1,700/tonne EXW (ex-works) for liquid sulphur and CNY1,510-1,610/tonne EXW for solid sulphur on Friday, a company source said.

The price increase applies to Sinopec’s refineries in Yangzi, Wuhan, Anqing, Jinling, Jiujiang, Gaoqiao, Jinshan, Guangzhou, Hainan, Maoming and Tianjin, the source said.

Sinopec’s Puguang gas field has raised its offers for sulphur by CNY30/tonne day on day to CNY1,610/tonne EXW for cargoes at Wanzhou port, and by CNY20/tonne day on day to CNY1,540/tonne EXW for truck deals at Dazhou in Sichuan on Friday, according to the source.

“Most overseas traders have limited or lifted their offers in response to high purchase costs from Middle Eastern suppliers,” an industry source said.

However, some domestic traders are less positive about the market outlook for September-October, because the downstream compound fertilizer and monoammonium phosphate (MAP) markets are subdued, a market player said.
