SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Idemitsu Kosan is currently running its two naphtha crackers at full capacity ahead of a turnaround at one of the units next month, a company source said on Tuesday.

Idemitsu Kosan is on track to shut its 623,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker in Tokuyama on 10 September for a turnaround, he added.

The cracker is expected to resume operations in late October, the source said without specifying any exact dates.

Idemitsu Kosan also runs a 374,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker in Chiba. The unit underwent scheduled maintenance last year.
