SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s CPC on 14 August shut its No 2 paraxylene (PX) and orthoxylene (OX) units located in Kaohsiung because of pipeline issues, a source familiar with the matter said on Wednesday.

The unit, with a nameplate capacity of 250,000 tonnes/year of PX and 70,000 tonnes/year of OX, was restarted on 9 August from an extended shutdown since early-March but has not been running smoothly, the source added.

“We will try to restart the No 2 unit again next week,” the source added.
